- Webmaster (ECOSOCC): This is a full-time position for a webmaster at African Union, near Zambia. The webmaster will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and updating the ECOSOCC website and social media platforms. The webmaster will also ensure that the website and social media platforms are user-friendly, interactive, secure, and compliant with AU standards and policies. The webmaster will work closely with the ECOSOCC Secretariat, IT Division, and Communication Directorate. The webmaster should have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, web design, or a related field and at least five years of relevant experience. The webmaster should also have excellent skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, SEO, graphic design, content management, and social media management. - Senior Legal Officer (ECOSOCC): This is a contract position for a senior legal officer at African Union, near Zambia. The senior legal officer will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to the ECOSOCC Secretariat on all matters relating to its mandate, functions, and activities. The senior legal officer will also draft and review legal documents, contracts, agreements, and memoranda of understanding; represent ECOSOCC in legal proceedings and negotiations; conduct legal research and analysis; and ensure compliance with AU rules, regulations, and policies. The senior legal officer should have a master’s degree in law or equivalent qualification and at least seven years of relevant experience. The senior legal officer should also have excellent knowledge of international law, human rights law, administrative law, and the AU legal framework, as well as strong skills in legal drafting, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving. - The African Union is seeking a Population & Social Statistics Expert (STATAFRIC) in Tunis, Tunisia, to work closely with the Population & Social Statistics Division to provide technical support for World Bank-funded projects. The role involves strengthening STATAFRIC’s capacity, coordinating project activities, and supporting capacity building in the areas of Population and Social statistics. Candidates should hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields with 7 or 10 years of experience, respectively, and demonstrate knowledge of social statistics methodologies, management skills, and proficiency in statistical tools. The appointment is initially for one year, renewable based on performance and availability of funds, with a salary of US$92,845.25 for internationally recruited staff and US$77,914.75 for locally recruited staff annually.
